Hi, I’m Ani, a bilingual dog trainer from Mexico. My fiancé lives in Colchester, and I’m excited to return to one of my favourite cities and, hopefully, call it home soon.

I’ve been working with dogs for six years. In Mexico, I collaborate with veterinarians in two cities and with adoption centres, helping newly adopted dogs settle into their homes and supporting their chances of finding loving families. I’d love to bring the same care to my new community.

While I’m in Colchester, I’d like to offer a limited number of complimentary dog-training sessions, with travel within Colchester included. I’m doing this to give something back, meet local dog owners and learn more about the breeds in the area. There’s no charge and no obligation to leave a review. I want you to feel comfortable getting to know me and trusting me with your precious dog.

My work focuses in part on reactivity and aggression-related behaviour. I use methods to help people understand what may be behind their dog’s behaviour and support their progress. Rather than only teaching tricks, I work with owners on practical steps that fit into everyday life. In Mexico, my clients can also follow their dog’s progress in a dedicated space on my website. I’d love to offer you a similar resource!

I have experience with herding breeds, especially Border Collies and Kelpies (I have one myself), as well as German, Belgian and Dutch Shepherds. I’ve also worked with family dogs, Pit Bulls, terriers and dogs with aggression- related challenges.

I’d love to meet local trainers and owners, share experiences over a coffee and learn more about the breeds that are common in this area, especially hounds and spaniels.

My in-laws describe me as “sparky” and I hope to bring some of that warmth to Colchester. I’m looking forward to meeting you and becoming part of the community.
